Please join us for a day of shooting, hunting, and fundraising. First, what is “Auctioneers Care?” We are in the process of registering a nonprofit organization that will be the beneficiary of the funds raised and donated. This organization will then funnel monies raised into organizations that support the arts, education, social services, and entrepreneurial learning in the communities where auctioneers live and work. This is not affiliated with any auctioneer association.
Our day has expanded from our initial hunt last year. Now we are offering sporting clays, a heated five stand, and a ‘clear the pins’ contest for the pistol lovers. Here is the schedule of events and your costs:
10:00-12:00 Pistol range will be open with a ‘clear the pins’ contest starting at 11:00. Your cost is $35. Shooters have use of the range for these two hours. It is outdoors and not super fancy, but you will love this! We will have the pins and a range monitor for these two hours.
10:00-3:00 Sporting clays. There are two 50 clay courses that take about an hour and fifteen minutes to walk and shoot. If you are going to hunt we recommend you do not start later than 11:15 as you want to be back in time for pre-hunt activities. If you are not hunting, you are welcome to shoot all day. Your cost is $35 plus your own shells. Steel required.
10:00-? Heated five stand. This is for those who do not want to walk a lot or if it is cold. Or just because it is fun. It is sporting clays from one location. In a heating building. Shooting out windows. You read that right. We will need folks to let us know if and when they want to shoot this as the building is heated with propane. A lot of fun for all! Your cost is $35. Steel shot required.
1:00- ?? Bird hunt! The hallmark of the day! We will have fields for four hunters. We include a professional guide and dogs. If you want to bring your own dog they need to be well-trained; you are responsible for them and you need to fill out your complete field of four hunters. We will not mix other hunters onto your field.
Each field will have 24 birds released consisting of 20 chuckar and four pheasants. Most fields will have more than that due to previous hunts. Steel shot is required. Limited to 32 hunters so reserve fast! Your cost is $200.
Post hunt… Pizza, snacks, munchies, and a cash bar. We will have contests to join, prizes for various shooting activities, silent auction, and a Calcutta auction to pick your preferred guide! All money going to Auctioneers Care!
Sponsors! We are asking for sponsors at the $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250, and $100 levels. This will be used to help fund the future philanthropy of Auctioneers Care. 95% of costs are covered by participants and Kurt and Connie Johnson.
