Friends and Fellow MSAA Members,

Thank you for the tremendous honor to serve as the 2016 Champion Auctioneer. So many of the 27 previous champions have played large roles in helping me become the auctioneer and man I am today. My hope is that I can be every bit as encouraging and supportive to future champions and competitors as the previous 27 champions have been to me.

To my fellow competitors, thank you. I often go back to the MSAA UStream so I can fully appreciate all the talent that crossed the stage that evening. So much can be learned from each of you. Don’t be surprised if you see me try to incorporate pieces of your chant into mine.

What makes the Minnesota Auctioneers Championship an experience one cannot afford to miss is the opportunity to challenge one’s self. To me, a championship isn’t about a trophy or a belt buckle, but a chance to be the very best I can be. In all the work I do there is a Vince Lombardi quote which encapsulates what motivates me to compete:

“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.”

I have been knocked down. I have made mistakes. But every single time I get back up and I take what I’ve learned to become a better auctioneer, businessman, and individual. This is the essence of a Champion and the reason every auctioneer should compete.

The beginning of 2016 has certainly been exciting for me. I’ve enjoyed the chance to work with a number of you already and I hope there will be many more opportunities as the year continues. Please accept my warm wishes to you and your family and I look forward to seeing many of you at the summer picnic in Rogers. I’m certain President Christian has a wonderful day in store.

All the Best, Isaac
