Kurt Johnson of White Bear Lake was named the 2011 Minnesota State Auctioneer Champion at the state auctioneers conference held in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Johnson is a past president of the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association, an instructor at World Wide College of Auctioneering, and has been in the auction business for 22 years. Runner-up in the field of 16, was Teresa Larson of Aitkin, 3rd place went to Austin Bachman of Ottertail, 4th to Ray Henry of Foley and taking 5th place was Romie Gessell Jr. of Grey Eagle.
Jeremy Schafer of Lake City, Minnesota was crowned the 2011 State Rookie Champion. Jeremy is currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying Dairy Farm Management.
