Dear Members,

Thank you for the opportunity to serve our association as champion auctioneer in the year ahead. Being chosen from such a talented field of contestants by a panel of judges who are true professionals in this business is a great honor. I would like to extend a special thank you to the board of directors and Mr.Mihalic for putting on another excellent contest and convention. I know I will have great resources planning the contest in the year ahead

I would also like to thank the membership for welcoming my wife, Kayla and I into this great family of auction professionals. From the first time we attended four years ago we have felt nothing but welcome. We look forward to the convention every year. As a first-generation auctioneer, the MSAA has opened doors for me in the auction business that I will be forever grateful for. Membership truly pays dividends.

During auction school, our instructions encouraged all of us to join and compete in our state associations. After my first time in the rookie contest in 2017, I knew the contest wasn’t so much about self-promotion as it was self-development. Every part of the contest has the ability to make us better auctioneers if we are willing to grow.

In closing, I look forward to serving as an ambassador for our association and industry in the year ahead. This is a charge that I do not take lightly. I will strive to be a true auction professional in every sense. I have kept this at the forefront of my mind while communicating with various media contacts since winning the contest. While I will hold this title and serve as an ambassador in this capacity for the next year, I certainly don’t plan to stop advocating for the auction industry just because my time as current champion auctioneer is up. I look forward to working with you all in the years ahead. I will encourage other young auctioneers to join and grow through our association as I have had the privilege to.

Andrew Jossund

2020 Minnesota State Champion Auctioneer

Past Champions

Hall of Champions
The Hall of Champions is reserved for the current and past Minnesota State Champion Auctioneer. Each Champion was awarded the honor of State Champion Auctioneer at the Minnesota Champion Auctioneer Contest. The contest is the showcase public event held each year at the annual Conference and Show. The contest consists of two divisions – Champion and Rookie. The Champion Auctioneer is determined through a preliminary round of selling three items and a final round of selling three items and answering three interview questions. This winner of this contest represents the industry throughout the coming year and joins a very select group of men and women in Minnesota who hold the title of Minnesota State Champion Auctioneer and are enshrined in the Hall of Champions.
